Numeralele ordinale se formează cu „-th”, afară de first, second, third; unele își schimbă scrierea: five – fifth, eight – eighth, nine – ninth (fără „e”), twelve – twelfth. După „one and a half” substantivul stă la plural: „one and a half days” (sau „a day and a half”). Numeralele multiplicative sunt once, twice, three times, four times: „de trei ori mai lung decât” se spune „three times as long as”. Structura se încheie cu „as”, nu cu „than”, iar „double” nu intră în ea (se spune „double the size of”). „Decât al nostru / a noastră” se redă prin pronumele posesiv: „as ours”, nu „as our”.
